طالما كان سلوك الحيوان ودوافع هذا السلوك موضوعَ دراسة وتفحُّص؛ فالحيوان كائن حي، له حياته ونُظمه، وفي هذا الكتاب يُقدم الكاتب، مستشهدًا بالأمثلة والحكايات، قراءة متعمقة في سلوك الحيوان؛ فيتعرَّض لمراحل تطوُّر هذا السلوك ليلائم البيئة المتغيرة من حوله، والأدواتِ التي يستخدمها الحيوان من أجل التعلم. كما يدرس حياةَ الحيوان في نُظم اجتماعية ضمن نطاق الأسرة أو العشيرة أو الزُّمرة وغيرها من التجمعات الاجتماعية، وما تُمثله من حماية وتفرضه من قوانين، ويدرس كذلك لغة التواصل البسيطة التي تستخدم في هذه التجمعات. جاء هذا الكتاب ليُكمِل ما بدأه الأوَّلون من دراساتٍ حول الحيوان وسلوكه — ﮐ «الجاحظ» في كتابه «الحيوان»، و«الدميري» في «حياة الحيوان الكبرى» — وأضاف ما توصَّلت إليه الأبحاث العلمية والمشاهدات الحية لسلوك الحيوان.‎  شارك الكتاب على ف

Ahmed Hammad Al-Husseini

Ahmed Hammad Al-Husseini: He is one of the first generations of zoology and comparative anatomy in Egypt. Ahmed Hammad Al-Husseini was born in the Assiut Governorate in 1912. From the beginning of his scientific career, he devoted most of his time and attention to zoology; He obtained a master's degree from the Faculty of Science, Cairo University, and a doctorate degree from the University of Sheffield in the United Kingdom, and continued to advance in his academic life until he took over the head of the animal department at the Faculty of Science, Ain Shams University. The doctor has many books, including: “Marine Mammals of Egypt”, “Birds of Egypt”, and “General Zoology”; Among his translations are: “Science in Our Daily Lives” by Montgomery, and “Life Since It Was” by Parker, among others. The College of Science named one of its stands in honor of his scientific gift. Despite the death of Dr. “Al-Husseini” in 1964 AD, his scientific contributions still constitute an essential reference for the specialist and the ordinary reader.
