Jalal Al-Din Abdul Rahman Al-Suyuti

Abd al-Rahman ibn Kamal al-Din Abi Bakr ibn Muhammad Sabiq al-Din Khader al-Khudairi al-Asyouti, better known as Jalal al-Din al-Suyuti, (Cairo 849 AH / 1445 AD - Cairo 911 AH / 1505 AD) was a prominent Muslim scholar. Al-Suyuti was from a Persian family. He was born on the evening of Sunday, the first of Rajab, in the year 849 AH, corresponding to September of the year 1445 AD, in Cairo, of an Arab mother. His father left Assiut to study science and he is proud of her and his roots. His name is Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr ibn Muhammad al-Khudairi al-Asyuti, and he was the descendant of a family famous for science. He was religious, and his father was one of the righteous scholars with a high scientific status, which made some of the sons of scholars and notables receive knowledge from him. Al-Suyuti’s father and son died at the age of six, and the child grew up an orphan, and turned to memorizing the Qur’an, so he completed it while he was under eight, then he memorized some books at that early age, such as the mayor, the curriculum of jurisprudence and the principles of jurisprudence and the millennium of Ibn Malik, so his perceptions expanded and his knowledge increased. Al-Suyuti was the subject of care and care from a number of scholars from his father’s companions, and some of them took the matter of guardianship over him, including al-Kamal ibn al-Hamam al-Hanafi, one of the senior jurists of his time, and the boy was greatly affected by him, especially in his distance from the sultans and the rulers of the state. And he made several scientific trips that included the countries of the Hijaz, the Levant, Yemen, India and the Islamic Maghreb. Then he taught hadith at the Sheikhuniyya school. Then stripped of worship and authoring when it reached the age of forty.
