It is difficult to define poetry in a way that includes its types in different languages, but there are a number of definitions that may give an integrated meaning of the essence of poetry. Poetry was defined as a balanced, rhymed speech (of Arabic poetry), denoting meaning, and having more than one line, and this definition includes systems. Some of them said: It is the speech that is intended to weigh and rhyme with a preliminary intent. As for the words that were not intended for poetry, it is not called poetry, even if it is measured. Ibn Khaldun defined it as: “It is an eloquent speech based on metaphors and descriptions, detailed in parts that agree in weight and narration, each part of which is independent in its purpose and intent from what came before and after it, and continues on the methods of the Arabs specific to it.” Poetry: It is a form of literary art in language that uses aesthetics and adjectives in addition to or in place of the apparent meaning of the subject. Poetry may be written independently, as distinct poems, or it may occur alongside other arts, as in poetic dramas, hymns, poetic texts, or prose poetry. As for the moral aspect, poetry is science.
