Abdul Rahman Shukry
Abd al-Rahman Shukri is an Egyptian poet, and one of the founders of the Diwan School of Poetry. Dr. “Suhair al-Qalamawi” described him as the poet who brought down the mind from his throne in the inspiration of poets; His poetry is a free imagination that rejects the limits of time and space. His poetry has brought about a renewal shift in the content of Arabic poetry. She transformed him from the beach of the mind to the sea of imagination. “Abd al-Rahman Shukri Ayyad” was born in Port Said in 1886 AD, to a family of Moroccan origins, who had an influential role in his life. His brother’s wife, “Ahmed Shukri,” who was fond of telling tales and legends, played a role in enriching his imagination, just as there was in his father’s library what satisfies his appetite for collections of poetry. He spent a semester of his life with his father in Port Said until he obtained his primary certificate, then he moved to Alexandria to enroll in Ras El-Tin High School, where he stayed for four years to obtain a high school diploma (Baccalaureate) after completing the movement. » The leader of the national movement at that time, who asked him to work as an editor for Al Liwaa newspaper, and advised him to join the Teachers’ School and get help from it in the field of journalism. Abd al-Rahman Shukri perfumed Rawdat al-Adab with many of his collections and poems, including: Diwan “Light of Dawn,” “Pearls of Thoughts,” “Chances of Boyhood,” “Flower of the Spring,” “Dangers,” and “Afran.” and "Autumn Flowers", his eighth diwan was published after his death among the complete works. Our poet began his struggle with illness in the summer of 1957 CE, until death prevented him in 1958 CE.
