Badriya Al-Bishr
Badriya al-Bishr is a novelist and journalist from Saudi Arabia who published a group of her short stories in 1992 under the title "The End of the Game", while other groups were published in 1996 and 1999 under the titles Wednesday Evening and Cardamom, respectively. Badria is also the author of Hind and the Asker (2005) and "Battles of Tash Ma Tash" (2007). The last book deals with the controversy surrounding the Saudi satirical comedy series "Tash Ma Tash". And her new novel, Women's Return in 2010. Badria worked in the field of social work after obtaining a bachelor's degree in social studies from King Saud University in Riyadh. After returning to King Saud University to obtain a Master of Arts, she began teaching at the university while working in journalism at the same time, where she began her journalistic career by writing a weekly column in Al-Yamamah magazine and then moved on to writing a daily column in Al-Riyadh newspaper. In 2005, Badria obtained a doctorate in sociology from the Lebanese University in Beirut, and at that time she was also writing for the newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat. In 2008, she was appointed to her current position as a writer for Al-Hayat newspaper. Badriya participated in short story seminars and cultural gatherings throughout the Arab world, such as the "Sharjah Girls Club" and events in literary clubs in Riyadh, Medina and Muscat. Badriya was also invited to the United States to discuss with the American media as part of the International Visits Program in January 2005.
