Hussam bin Saeed bin Mahmoud bin Bandar Al Nuaimi, was born in Baghdad in the Sheikh Bashar area in Karkh in 1939 AD. He studied elementary and middle school in Baghdad, and graduated from Al-Karkh High School in 1958. In the same year, he entered the Higher Teachers’ House “College of Education” in the Department of Arabic Language, and graduated in 1961 / 1962.
He worked as a teacher in secondary education in Basra from 1962 to 1964 AD. He obtained a master’s degree from the Faculty of Arts at Cairo University in 1967 AD in his thesis entitled “Al-Nasikh fi Sibawayh’s Kitab” and worked in the same year at the Faculty of Islamic Studies in Baghdad, teaching again in 1970 AD, where he moved to Faculty of Arts, University of Baghdad, Teaching Assistant. He obtained a doctorate from the University of Baghdad in 1978 AD in his thesis entitled “Dialect and Phonetic Studies of Ibn Jinni” and was included in the scientific ranks at the University of Baghdad until he was awarded the rank of professor in 1987 AD. He taught at Mohammed V University in Rabat / Morocco from 1982 to 1984, and is currently heading the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Sharjah.
He assumed the presidency of the Board of Directors of the Muslim Youth Association in Baghdad from 1994 until he left Iraq for the Emirates in 1999.
