إن نظرة عابرة نلقيها على شتى الموضوعات التي يعالجها علم النفس الحديث تبين لنا أن هذا العلم أصبح بحق مركزًا لجميع العلوم الإنسانية، فهو من جهة القمة التي ترتقي إليها البحوث البيولوجية التي تتناول تركيب الإنسان ككل منظم وتنظر في الأجهزة التي تحقق تكامل وظائفه وتمكنه من تحقيق التكيُّف الملائم مع بيئته. وهو من جهة أخرى الأساس الذي تستند إليه شتى العلوم الاجتماعية التي تدرس آثار الإنسان في المجتمع من دينية وأخلاقية وسياسية وأدبية. وهذا المركز الممتاز الذي يحتله علم النفس من بين سائر العوم ويحتم على الباحثين فيه أن يدرسوا الوقائع النفسية مع مراعاة صلتها بالظواهر البيولوجية والظواهر الاجتماعية بحيث يقدم لنا هذا العلم صورة صادقة لتركيب الإنسان ونشاطه كوحدة نفسية جسمية.

Dr. Abou Madian al-Shafi'i a modern Algerian pioneer psychologist Abstract Dr. Abou Madian al-Shafi'i was one of the high profile Algerian pioneer psychologists in the modern history. He was one of the first Algerian students who got the PhD in psychology in Cairo in 1947. He got his PhD after a long and exhausting journey from Tlmecen (Algeria), Morocco, Italy and to Egypt. He made this journey, to make his successful graduation, in the age of seventeen when the French colonization wouldn’t have let him do so in Algeria. After getting his PhD, he was appointed a teacher of psychology in the Egyptian university, and then he opened his clinic where he was killed by an Egyptian Jewish in 1958. Dr. Abou Madian contributed a lot in serving the Algerian situation. He left a valuable legacy of many researches, articles and science books which many of are considered teaching sources in the Egyptian, Iraqi and Shami universities.
