Book Description
Tim Ferriss
Timothy Ferris is an American businessman, investor, author, and lifestyle expert.
Ferris was raised in East Hampton, New York. Throughout childhood, Ferris suffered from poor health, which sparked interest in self-improvement. By the time he was in high school, Ferris had gained a solid understanding of health and fitness. After graduating from St. Paul's School, Ferris received his BA at Princeton University, receiving his BA. in East Asian Studies in 2000. His senior thesis was titled "Japanese Kanji Acquisition: Traditional Practice and Memory Supplementation", supervised by Seiichi Makino. After graduating from Princeton University, Ferris worked in sales for a data storage company.
In 2001, Ferris founded BrainQUICKEN, an Internet-based nutritional supplement company, while still working at his previous job. He sold the company, then known as BodyQUICK, to a London-based private equity firm in 2010. He has stated that the 4-hour workweek was based on this period. Since authoring his books, he has reassessed his ideas about productivity, saying "I am not focused on maximizing productivity, because this begs the question: To what goal? I revisit these questions and my answers to these questions during this time" and "Cannot be measured It's all meaningful."
