Book Description

In this book John Bird introduces engineering science through examples rather than theory - enabling students to develop a sound understanding of engineering systems in terms of the basic scientific laws and principles. The book includes 575 worked examples, 1200 problems, 440 multiple choice questions (answers provided), and the maths that students will require is also provided in a separate section within the book. The new edition of Science for Engineering presents the fundamentals of the subject, and has also been brought fully in line with the compulsory Science and Mathematics units in the new specifications for BTEC National and BTEC First courses. It also offers full coverage of the compulsory units of AVCE and Intermediate GNVQ (Science and Mathematics).Throughout the book assessment papers are provided that are ideal for use as tests or homework. These are the only problems where answers are not provided in the book.
