Book Description
The focus of this book is on describing thephysical processes that act to shape the coast and the landforms that make up the coast. As in any other branch of applied science, we can study these for their own interest, without the need to justify it in terms of potential benefits. However, in addition to its geomorphological significance, the coastal zone is particularly important from a human perspective.
Robin Davidson
Dr. Davison-Arnott studies coastal processes in the Great Lakes, as well as marine coasts such as the east coast of Canada. He has expertise in coastal erosion of sandy and clay bluff coasts, as well as in the development of sandy beach and dune systems. He has studied the effects of changing lake and sea levels on sandy coasts and modelling the effects of sea-level rise. He has been involved in developing coastal management policy for the Great Lakes.
