Book Description

Adolf Hitler

Adolf Hitler, born in Austria, came to power as the leader and founder of the National Socialist German Workers' Party, or Nazi Party. He is one of the 100 most influential figures in history, and he was able to achieve this with his charisma in giving speeches and gaining public support, his anti-communism and his support for German nationalism. He ruled Germany through the position of State Counsellor (Prime Minister) between 1933 and 1945 with a dictatorship, and his adoption of policies that contributed to igniting the Second World War and the mass massacre of 6 million Jews known as the Holocaust, in addition to five million other civilians. Hitler and his wife Eva Braun committed suicide in his Berlin bunker on April 30, 1945, when his defeat became inevitable.
