Pierre Canavaggio was the editor-in-chief of Historama magazine and a columnist for Quotidien de Paris and Nouvelle Adam.

He now collaborates with Revue des deux mondes and Le Point. He is the author of numerous articles on superstitions including La Petite Histoire des superstitions (ed. Alphée).

He published Pierre Canavaggio on the Good Use of Superstitions (La Table Ronde, 1998), The Dictionary of Myths and Beliefs (Dervy, 1998) and The Superstitions of Love (Le Rocher, 2004).
