An Egyptian short story writer and novelist, born in Luxor, Egypt, in 1967. He works as an editor for the New Culture magazine. He won the first prize in a press competition (Akhbar Literature) for the short story, at the level of the Arab world, for the story "The Four Wheels of the Kart Cart". He has published three short story collections and two novels: “The Idol” (1999) and “An Exile of the Lord” (2013). He was nominated for the Booker Prize, and he also published a novel, “A Severe Deviation.”
